Remember August

This is an archive of the live game Remember August, run via the United States Postal Service by Shing Yin Khor, in February 2022. 

Remember August is an experimental live keepsake game by Shing Yin Khor, about old forgotten friendships and lost memories, played to the ritual and cadence of sending and receiving mail. 

In February 2022, players received the letters via postal mail, and were asked to respond to their friend August, who was lost in time. There were eight letters in total, approximately two a week. Players were encouraged to use the hashtag #rememberaugust when posting their letters on social media.

The live game will not be run again, but the files made available here are offered so you can run your own live game of Remember August. 

Files include:

1. A booklet containing of all August's letters, as well as the instructions sent to players.
2. A .zip archive of the files. These are replicated in the .pdf booklet, but might make printing/formatting individual letters easier.
3. A prep and mailing guide for Remember August.
